Random!!

Okay, I had a few random pictures of various events, but I'm going to lump them all together.

First, here is a picture of the engagement ring! It's so pretty. I just had it solder together with my wedding ring. It is pretty thick. I can barely get it on, but it's worth it because it's so pretty. :)




Okay, so I am trying to still post these in order of when they occurred. . . . let's see . . . what's next. Probably my trip to the farm with my first graders.

The second to last week of school, I took my first graders to Shamrock Farms in Maricopa city. It took a little over an hour to get there and I had to go to the bathroom the second we got on the bus, of course. My kids had a lot of fun pretending to sleep on the bus, which was fun for me too because they weren't yelling and screaming which was nice. Seth came with me. I was really glad to have him there. Him . . . and the mom of my student that runs from my classroom on a daily basis. I was also glad she was there. So, it was a pretty stress-free field trip. When we got there (at 10:00) they had my group eat lunch while another group toured the farm. After a while the kids started getting impatient so they brought out chocolate milk and ice cream. The ice cream was so delicious. I didn't get any chocolate milk . . . but I'm sure it was good. Then, I noticed that they had a little memory match game on the wall, so i gathered my class together and we played that until it was our turn to go on the tour.



When it was our turn, we loaded on the tram and they drove us around to the different areas of the farm giving information about things the kids didn't really care about. Then after 15 minutes they pulled over to a playground in the middle of the farm. The kids were so excited. It was a pretty cool playground. Everything was made out of Shamrock products. They got to play (and milk a pretend cow) for about 15 minutes. Then we walked over to a building where we watched the cows get milked.



They told us that the cows milk is 101 degrees Fahrenheit when it first comes out of the cow! We watched a movie about what they do with the milk after it comes out of the cow. Then, we all got back on the tram and went to their cow nursery. The kids got to pet and feed baby cows! They loved it . . . the kids that is. The calves were not the biggest fans and they looked terrified. They tried to run away, despite the cages they were in and most of them couldn't control their bowel movements. The smart kids were grossed out by the baby calf diarrhea and stayed away. The tour guide said that all the cows on the farms were girls and she was going to let us name when of the baby calves! The students were so excited. They all wanted to name the baby calf, but only two kids got chosen and we voted on the 2 names. They were Charlie and Carly (an actual girl name). Ha ha - - so which name do you think my brilliant children chose??

We had so much fun together. I am actually starting to miss that group of kids. :)

Next random item . . . .

Seth got new glasses!! He looks so good in them. His brother, Zach, tells him he looks like a married man in them . . which is good . . . I guess.



Okay, so I guess I got out of order some how because this actually happened before the field trip. Seth and I took a trip to Las Veags. It was actually for our Honeymoon. While we were there we went to the Coke Museum or World of Coke and tried 16 different flavors of Coke from around the world! Some of the flavors were so good!! And the rest were just awful.



Ya. . . you see that green one in the picture? It tasted like I was drinking my Listerine mouth wash. But, hey, if that's what you like . . . gross. Also, if you are ever in China, DO NOT get Smart Watermelon for your drink. It was not American watermelon. It was very bitter.

Almost done! Only 2 more random things to talk about. First, Seth's birthday was a few weeks ago. It was a 3 day celebration.

On Saturday, my parents wanted to have dinner with us. They surprised Seth by buying him a steak. He was very excited. We also got corn on the cob and Seth had a recipe he wanted to try with it. So I ran all over Mesa to three different stores trying to find him this special cheese so his birthday dinner would be complete. I finally found the cheese at Ranch Market.



We also got him a Frozen Yogurt Pie. The girl doing the yogurt pie filled our pie about half full when the owner said, "You're not done I hope." Then showed her how much yogurt should go in a pie. That is the thickest yogurt pie I have ever had from them. It was delicious. :)



Here are the presents. Plus he got a few more things from his family that I don't have pictures of to post.


On Sunday, we went over to Seth's parents house and ate . . . I'm not quite sure what that was, but it was good and I'll have to have Seth describe what it was.

On Monday night, we went to Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Scottsdale. They got confused and brought us the wrong order, but we had already started cutting into the pizza, so we got a free pizza. Sweet!

The last random thing I was going to write about is our Search for the Perfect House!!

My dad is a realtor, so him and my mom came to visit a few Saturdays ago. We were going to go to the Body World exhibit at the Phoenix Science Center. But, before we went, we thought it would be fun to go look at houses. Seth and I will eventually buy a house. We are not too serious right now, but thought it would be fun to start looking to decide what we want and what we don't want. After looking, I definitely know some things that I DO NOT want in a house.

We looked at about 4 or 5 houses. I liked a little something about each house, but didn't like a single house as the entire whole. Some had a nice layout, but needed a lot of work put into it. Two had a nice kitchen, one had every wall a different color (orange, green, blue, red -- in the same room), one had really tiny hallways (you could open the closet door and miss the wall by a cm), one had a nice built in surround sound system, one had a nice big backyard, one house was just painted and we set the alarm system off when we walked in - realized it was JUST painted, closed the door, locked it, and went to body worlds. Ha ha--

AND THEN THERE WAS THIS HOUSE:


Now, let me just paint the picture of what you are actually looking at.
Imagine going to bed at night, in a nice soft, cozy, comfortable bed. Your husbands alarm goes off. He goes into the bathroom to take a shower. You roll over in bed. . . and. . . THAT is your view. Yes, this bedroom had no wall. Just a piece of glass that looked right into the shower. . . and yes. I could even watch my spouse use the toilet from the comfort of my bed. That's not even the best part! The windows were angled in a way so that if you have guests over for, let's say a barbeque, and you accidentally left your bedroom window open, and ran inside to use the bathroom. . . let's just say everyone at the party is going to be getting a show. Dinner and a show! Ha ha ha-- ya I'd rather not have all our guests watch me use the bathroom. But, hey! Maybe some people like that . . . I don't want to be friends with those people.

Well, that's all for my random things. I think I am all caught up now. I have taken a few pictures of some sewing projects I have been working on so I'll post updates on those soon. :)

WE DID IT!!!

On March 12, 2011 I married my best friend in the Mesa, Arizona temple. It was a happy day AND we looked so good. :)



There was a lot of family that came and many friends. We have had so much support and help. I have many people to thank for making the day so special -- and stress free.



Thanks to my mom and dad for all their hard work and physical labor in making sure everything was ready for the reception. Thanks for the endless hours spent making center pieces and decorating/remodeling the Ash's backyard. AND thanks to the Ash's for letting us use their backyard.







Thanks to Linda and Mannie (my new set of parents) for helping with the wedding and for the awesome lunch-in. I am so lucky to be a part of the family.



Thanks to Eva, my new sister, for doing all of our reception food. That was a lot of work, but we think it was worth it because the food was delicious.



AND Thanks for making/creating the most beautiful cake I have ever seen!! I love my cake -- and it tasted so good. :)

New York and Engagement!!

I am trying to catch up on my Blog posts since the last time I posted something was a year ago about a dog I don't even like. Ha ha-- anyway. . . I am recently married and will be posting more about my wedding later this week. I had this post saved in my files. Why I never posted it? Who knows.

Last summer I went to visit my sister in New York. It was a lot of fun. Seth came with me. We had to take the subway everywhere which was new to me since I had never done that before. There were a lot of . . . interesting people that ride the subway. Including homeless men that smell like their own urine. Gross. Anyway, we got to see a lot of the sites including the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, PLUS we got to go see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.

After a few days we rode a train to Washington D.C. That was so fun. Lyndz came with us since CW was already in Texas.



We ate at a lot of really cool and delicious restaurants in NY. My favorite (and probably most expensive) restaurant was Babbos. I loved every thing I ate (even the squid ink pasta!!) We also ate at Shake Shack, Momo Fuku, a bakery in Hell's Kitchen, and I got a vanilla ice cream cone from McDonalds about every day. :)

There was also a little bakery by Lyndz' apartment that we got a cannoli from -- my first one!! I was addicted after that. I LOVE CANNOLIS!!

On the last day, we decided to take a cab back to the airport. I have never been so scared in my whole entire life!! There were a couple of times when I really thought we were going to crash into the car driving next to us. But, we made it.

I wish I had more pictures to show, but sadly they are not on this computer that I am using. I will have to find some pictures and post them up later.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

In my three years experience working with kids, I have heard the funniest comments said by kids about random things. I just had to post a few of my favorites said by these precious kids.

1. "Did you wake up on the side of crazy this morning?"
2. "That book hit me in a place a book should never go."
3. "You wear too much make-up. You're suppose to put it on like this. My mom told me."
4. "Your hair looks better up."
5. "Oh no you didn't"
6. "Don't make me say it . . . It's because I'm black, huh?"

Blackie - My dog for 3 days

Growing up, my family never had pets. (Well, there was one incident with a cat, but we try to forget about that. . . ) Anyway, last week a stray dog showed up at our front door. Of course we shooed it away, but after three days of realizing that the dog was dying and would probably die unless we do something, we decided to feed it. After two days of nursing it back to health, the dog looked so much better.

I came home from work one day to find a little dog house on the side of my parent's home. What a spoiled dog.

After three days of taking care of Blackie, my dad decided that he couldn't handle it anymore and took him to the dog pound. Ya. . . like I've said before... My family isn't exactly dog people. Ha ha. But it was fun to have a dog for a week.

So You Think You Can Dance?

Last week I had the opportunity to go to a "So You Think You Can Dance?" Concert! It was entertaining. I went with my future roommate, Miranda, and her friend Sara. The concert was in Glendale.

We were 8 rows from the front on the floor!


We ate at "Which Which?" They serve sandwiches there. I liked it and I would eat there again.

Ha ha. Miranda and Sara closed their eyes for the picture. So cute.

I wanted a picture by the door that said "Authorized Personnel Only", but right as I got up to the door a worker came out and yelled at me for not being where I was suppose to be. So, I got in trouble! But, after she left I went and got a picture of it anyway.

After the concert we went to Red Robin. . . but they were closed! So, we settled for Chile's and we each ordered our own individual desserts. I ate a whole chocolate cake by myself! Well. . . I guess it was a piece of chocolate cake, but still... Chile's desserts are pretty big.

This is what happens when you steal my camera . . . I just post the pictures you took of yourselves on my blog (Lyndsie, Kaylee, Landon . . . He's probably the instigator.) Mwwaahahahahaha!! (That's my evil laugh.)






My sisters are so funny. They stole my camera one day and took funny pictures of themselves. I almost died laughing when I saw these. I had forgotten they were on my camera until I downloaded pictures of my Utah trip. They were intermixed with the Utah pictures. Ha ha. The best is that Landon, my 2 year old nephew, is making a similar face as my sisters in one of the pictures. So hilarious. :)
